Handcrafted by Chameleon Glass in the USA, Gandalf's Hash Bowl Glass Pipe, has been specifically designed for use with bubble hash and other semi solid materials. This style of pipe is an updated version of the original hot knife style vaporizers, making use of a heated stick that causes the material to vaporize.
This set consists of a Glass Pipe (made in the USA) with vent holes around the top of the pipe and a Quartz Glass Hot Stick (made in China). The airflow holes have been set into the top of the bowl so that you can effectively push and rotate the hot stick into the contents of the bowl, without blocking the airflow.
Simply load a little of your material into the bottom of the bowl, then heat the ball of the hot stick with a small torch lighter for around 10 seconds (this depends on the power of your torch/lighter). After heating, you can push, lift and rotate the hot stick in the material, as you lift vapor will escape around the sides. Inhaling gently as you do this pulls the vapor through the pipe and into your lungs. Ensure you do lift and rotate the hot stick or you will trap the hot vapor in the material, instead of it being able to flow up and into the airflow holes! To clear the Pipe there release rush/carb hole on the side (also, cover this hole while inhaling or you'll just inhale fresh air!).
These make for a different vaporizing experience from other designs and there is a small learning curve in terms of finding your sweet spot for heating the stick and correcting the method. When used effectively they are capable of producing huge, flavoursome clouds and fairly fast extractions. Generally only one heat cycle is required for vaporization. When the material is spent you can scrape it out of the bowl with the handle end of the stick, wipe if required, then reload.
To take the guesswork out of it, the Hot Stick temperature can be measured with a device such as the Terpometer IR, ensuring it's heated to the correct temperature. However after a few heating cycles it's fairly easy to just count in your head and repeat the experience with relative accuracy so this isn't by any means a required addition, just a helpful tool!

Bubble hash stands apart from extracted oils found in vape pens, as it doesn’t involve solvents, aerosolizers, or chemical thinners. With the assistance of a hot pick tool, three vent holes are punctured close to the upper rim. The Hash Edition version includes a hot stick, which you can use by placing a chunk of hash in the bowl and heating the ball end of the hot stick with a regular Bic lighter for approximately 30 seconds. Then, gently push the slightly red ball of the hot stick into the chunk, allowing it to melt and vaporize. The vapors are drawn into the vent holes before escaping the bowl.
