The Terpometer IR is a useful addition to your vaping kit as it allows contact free temperature measurements to be taken from your glassware. The IR version of the Terpometer is particularly useful for complex glass bangers such as Terp Slurpers which are very difficult to take a contact based reading from. Not making contact with the hot glass also saves you from the occasional accidental burns which otherwise occur.
Having no probe means the Terpometer IR is also much more portable than the original Terpometer and as such even comes with a keychain attachment, not that we'd stick this on our keys and shove it in a pocket, but maybe hang it from the inside of a bag! The only downside of the IR system is decreased accuracy over the original probe setup, it works very well with glass and is usually with a 10F range so is very appropriate for getting your dabs in the right range, however we've found it is inaccurate when used with Titanium or Ceramic without using the calibration function, so would not advise purchasing it for checking these materials unless you're happy to calibrate the Terpometer IR against another device when not using glass. For that we'd suggest the original Terpometer or a thermocouple/multimeter setup.
All in all a very useful and fairly versatile bit of kit which fits very nicely into a niche that isn't otherwise catered for (small and portable with temperature calibration and a dab tool). For glass there is no more convenient solution. Enhanced by the addition of the Docking Station which allows for hands free use at home!
