The Yeson 3s is a small, convection heavy hybrid, portable herb vape which punches well above its weight and price. It has a fully isolated air path with a ceramic heater and glass stem, providing excellent flavour and great clouds with a fairly fast extraction time. Due to the fairly restricted airflow and thick vapor we would consider this as a great option for sipping.
Loading
The chamber capacity is around 0.15 grams (max.), we suggest tamping gently to hold the herb in place in the stem. If you don't have something suitable to do this with the SQP Mini is an ideal size for both loading and tamping (or just use the back of a biro!). However since we're usually lazy vapers here, we suggest using either the straw loading or push loading method as it's quicker! Straw loading is when you dip the stem into ground herb and inhale to pull the herb into the chamber, push loading is when you pop the stem into ground herb while twisting and pushing to help load the herb inside. Then tamp after to keep it in place! To avoid restricting airflow too much we suggest using a medium or fine grind for this setup.
Vaping
Having a straight through glass stem there isn't loads of vapor cooling provided, however due to the limited airflow it tends to stay at a fairly comfortable level if you're just sipping away. If you'd like to improve the cooling we suggest picking up some of the basket screens and loading a few glass or ruby balls (4mm works great) into the main part of the stem, then popping a basket screen in to hold them in place. Since the flat mesh screen it's provided with doesn't stay in place very well, we would always use it with one of the basket screens in the herb chamber as well, this is very much recommended unless you're dead keen on the all glass vapor pathway. Using screens also reduces particle feedback making the straw loading method and general vaping; less bitty!
One thing to be aware of is that after you've turned the device on you will need to press one of the buttons (doesn't matter which) to initiate heat up. If you just unlock the device but don't press anything it'll sit there not heating!
Things that might bug you so you should know in advance
One negative to note about this device is that it has a fairly slow heat up time, taking around a minute to heat up to 200c. While this isn't ideal it does mean that, due to the slower heating, the herb chamber is nicely heat soaked when it's finished heating so provides instant vapor production from that time. Battery life is pretty standard, providing around 8 x 5 minute sessions from one charge (varies based on set and ambient temperature). When the battery is low it also takes a little longer to heat up. That said it does have a pass-through charging function so you can charge while vaping, which is always a handy feature to have. Dosing capsules are currently unavailable for this device but we're looking into options for that. Being that it has an exposed glass stem, you might want to consider grabbing the smaller Vaporizer Case if you have a tendency to chuck things in bags and forget about them.
Cleaning
Just pop the stem in some ISO for a couple of hours then rinse with hot water. Simples.
If you've perused the site you may have seen that this has been said this many times, on many listings. You don't have to throw mesh screens away when they get dirty! They can also be soaked in ISO then brushed to be cleaned! You can alternatively hold them with tweezers, clean them with a little micro flame torch if you have one, brush them off and use them for yonks! Save yourself some cash and the planet along the way, clean them instead of binning them as soon as they're a bit icky!
