New design UV proof 5ml glass concentrate storage jar.
Being made from thick UV proof black glass these jars are the best option for day to day preservation of your concentrate and long term concentrate storage. Unlike our mixing jars which have a coating that slowly wears, these will never degrade in the same way.
The jars have a perfectly regular mirror finish inside, the sides and base are flat, unlike our UV resistant mixing jar which has a bowl shape. Like the UV resistant mixing jar these have no internal corners for concentrate to get stuck in, only smooth rounded surfaces. This makes them suitable for mixing, albeit less so.
Designed to be stable these jars have a thick, wide base giving them a low centre of gravity. Another advantage of this design is that it allows for a deeper lid which provides a better seal and improved smell resistance over similar jars with shallower lids.
The inside of the lid has a partially floating child-resistant style design, the lid can be screwed down to create a full seal inside. When this is done the external cap spins freely unless downward pressure is applied, allowing it to lock into the internal cap and unscrew it. A plastic insert sits in the cap of the lid, this is pressed down onto the glass rim of the jar helping to form a full seal when closed. The outside of the lid has grip ridges allowing it to be easily undone when it inevitably gets a little sticky inside, the lid itself is made from plastic to reduce stress on the glass and help form a proper seal.
