Geekvape Aegis Solo 100W Mod General Information
The Geekvape Aegis Solo 100W Mod is a single 18650 battery, ip67 rated water and dust resistant mod in a shock resistant housing. With an advanced AS-100 chipset and excellent internal electronics this mod fires up quickly between 5-100 Watts and has excellent temperature control. The housing is rubberized so is soft to the touch, this helps it absorb minor shocks, preventing damage to the internals. With an ergonomic design the Aegis Solo 100W is primarily designed to be used with screen facing you, firing the button with your thumb. It is fairly comfortable when held the other way but it's clear from the design they had this method in mind. Can be purchased with or without a P26A 25A constant discharge 2600mah Molicel battery. All the buttons work well and have no play. Please note you do not require the tool to open the battery cover it, is included "just in case", there is also a coin slot which can be used to open it if you're having trouble. We've never needed either!
Aside from being water/dust and shock resistant we love this mod here at Recommended Vape Supplies because of its simplicity and ease of use. The menu is easy to operate, the screen is big and clear with a brightness control and new coil readings are displayed to three decimal places so you can see exactly what's going on with their resistance! TCR numbers for the different stock TC profiles are also displayed on the screen which makes calibrating a breeze, you don't generally get this information from your mod! The stock settings also match up well to give accurate temperature control with both the quartz and titanium crucibles for the DC V4 and the TCR value can be set for the HVT Sai titanium bucket coil. The mod provides excellent vapour with a tank and has an extra large metal mount for installing larger atomizers. We've found with the HVT Sai or DC V4 this larger mount also helps to function as a heat sink, dissipating some of the heat that would otherwise end up in the mod!
Our only real gripes with the Aegis Solo 100W are the base which could have be slightly more stable. It's fairly good but the rubber at the bottom makes it easier to knock over than some other mods. Due to its width and shock resistant nature this has only been something to consider when using water tools/bubblers. Also there is only one custom TCR mode and finally the resistance lock is a doesn't work. Due to the quality of the mod and the accurate resistance readings it provides (always asks if it's a new coil even when the difference is small) we've found allowing coils to cool then installing them is sufficient without having to lock coil resistance. The Aegis Solo also doesn't re-read new baseline resistance readings while the atomizer is plugged in so coils don't need to be locked on this mod! The lack of a functioning resistance lock has only caused us trouble when installing warm atomizers soon after switching them around but this is easily avoided so not generally an issue. This resistance lock issue may well be fixed in a future firmware update.

Using it simply with our atomizers
You may have different preferences (e.g. some people like their bucket/crucible temperature to overshoot when used with high airflow) but we like to provide a reasonable starting point in case you don't have the desire or equipment to calibrate with! You can try out either the manufacturer recommended settings or these which we've found using the Aegis Solo 100W and stated atomizers.
Some people have found replacing the battery door a little fiddly, we've found a simple method for aligning the screw threads to avoid this. When replacing the battery cover; put it in place and first unscrew it by half a turn. Doing this will align the threads and allow you to easily screw the cover back into place. This is a useful method which works with bolts, lids, atomizers and so on! It is also easier when the threads are aligned or when removing the cover to twist the mod, not the battery cover.
Please note this mod does not come with a tank, these are just for display purposes.
The "green" mod is two tone green and purple, a lot like an old TVR, but without all the chips and scratches.
We're pleased to inform you we've found from testing that this product does not in fact contain pieces of dead cow as suggested by the manufacturer specifications. We were concerned about this so set the handle on fire with a mini blowtorch. It's a rubber of sorts. We don't generally recommend setting mods on fire as it can have negative consequences.
